On February 19, 2010, Virginia L. Edwards, 85, passed away in her sleep at The Fairfax Retirement Home. Having been preceeded by 7 months to the day, she has rejoined her husband of 66 years, Corwin.
Born on December 3, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to William Marshall and his wife, the former Bessie Virginia Lloyd.
Married on May 15, 1943 in Arlington, Va. US Army for a career that spanned 27 years of service in places such as Korea, Japan and Panama, as well as tours in Charlottesville, VA and in Washington DC. Upon retirement from the military he put in another 16 years as a civilian attorney to the US Government, serving in Washington and overseas.
She will be missed.
Shee is survived by her sons Corwin Jr. of Chevy Chase Maryland, Allen L. of Lakeside, California, Carl M. of Arlington, Virginia, and Robert C. of Alexandria, Virginia, and by her daughter Elizabeth V. Irion of Lancaster Pennsylvania, and by her grandchildren, Kimberley, Jason, Bryan, Emma, and Conor Edwards.
His life, summed up in three words would have to be DUTY, HONOR, and FAMILY (in no particular order).
A private inurnment ceremony was be held at the Arlington National Cemetery, where Virginia and Corwin will be together.
